Gans Grizzlies suffer losses to Porum, Keota in Riverside Conference Tournament

PORUM — The Gans Grizzlies baseball team went two and out at the 2026 Riverside Conference Tournament last Thursday as they lost 18-0 in three innings to Porum and 13-0 in three innings to Keota.

In the loss to Porum, Porum pitcher Bryson Catron threw a threeinning no-hitter with seven strikeouts.

The Panthers scored 12 runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning to put the game into run-rule status.

Phoenix Xiong (0-2) took the loss for the Grizzlies (0-8) as he did not get an out in the opening inning. Jaxon Ragsdale got the first two outs, one of which was by strikeout. Austin Hines got the next two outs, one of which was by strikeout, then Jasper Green went the rest of the way.

In the loss to Keota, Keota pitcher Maddox Howard threw a three-inning, no-hitter with six Ks.

The Lions scored four runs in the first inning and nine runs in the second inning to put the game into run-rule status.

Xiong took the loss, despite fanning two batters in two innings.

The Grizzlies found out where they are going for their Class B District Tournament, which will be next week, as they were sent to Battiest with Bokoshe. The district tournament will be next week.
