Muldrow Lady Bulldogs get wins Checotah, lose four games to end week
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs got last week off on the right set of paws as they got a pair of wins over the Checotah Lady Wildcats, winning 12-0 on April 6 and beating them 11-3 last Thursday at the Checotah Festival.

However, the week ended on a four-game losing streak as they lost 7-0 to Panama and 10-1 to Warner on Thursday at the Checotah Festival, then lost both games last Friday at the Warner Tournament as they fell 5-2 to Fort Gibson and 2-1 to Warner.

In the first win over Choctaw, pitcher Jaydin Dean (7-12) tossed a four-hitter for the Lady Bulldogs (7-12).

Muldrow scored six runs in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and three runs in the fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Kaydence Young doubled with three runs batted in and two runs scored, while Haven Nickson tripled with three RBIs and run scored.

In the second victory over Checotah, the Lady Bulldogs broke a 3-all tie with a pair of threerun innings in the third and fourth innings and a two-run fifth inning to put the game into runrule status.

For the contest, Young was 3-for-4 with three doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs, Dean went 2-for-4, Amarie Duran went 2-for-2 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs, Nickson was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored and Reagan Newbern doubled and scored twice for Muldrow. Dean got the win.

In the loss to Panama, Panama pitcher Hayven Hoffman tossed a onehitter, with that hit being Dean’s single.

The Lady Razorbacks broke a scoreless tie with a six-run second inning and a single run in the fourth inning.

Dean suffered the loss.

In the first loss to Warner, the Lady Eagles scored six runs in the first inning and one in the second inning for a 7-0 lead. After the Lady Bulldogs scored their lone run in the fourth inning, the Lady Eagles scored three runs in the sixth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Aliyah Duran was 3-for-3, Amaya Duran was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored, Amarie Duran was 2-for-3 and Noelia Parga was 2-for-3 for Muldrow. Dean took the loss.

In the loss to Fort Gibson, the Lady Tigers broke a 2-all tie with a three-run seventh inning.

In defeat, Young was 2-for-3 with her first home run of the season and two RBIs, while Parga was 2-for-3 with a double for Muldrow. Dean suffered the loss.

In the second loss to Warner, the Lady Eagles broke a 1-all tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning after the Lady Bulldogs tied the game in the top of the frame.

In defeat, Young was 2-for-3 with her second homer of the day and of the season for Muldrow. Dean took the loss.

The Lady Bulldogs found out last Friday where they will go for their Class 5A District Tournament, which will be played sometime next week. They were sent to North Rock Creek north of Shawnee along with Cache.
