The Muldrow Cherokee Community Organization (MCCO) hosted its first Women’s Gathering from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on April 8, at the MCCO building.
Tashaa Harris, with the MCCO, said they decided to host the first event after more than 100 women in the community expressed interest.
Harris said the evening consisted of fellowship, encouragement, conversation and friendship, giving the la- dies time to get to know one another and share ideas.
“It was such a special night. We had around 25 wonderful ladies of all ages come together and enjoy delicious refreshments made by Cathy Followell,” Harris said.
Harris said the group spent the evening sharing stories, laughing together, and realizing just how much they all had in common.
“It was so refreshing to see women from different walks of life connect so easily and genuinely,” she said. “There was such a sweet spirit in the room, full of encouragement, kindness and support.”
The group ended the night by praying for one another.
“Moments like these remind me how important it is for women to come together, lift each other up, and build meaningful relationships,” Harris added.
Upcoming gatherings are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month, starting at 5:30 p.m.
