Central Lady Tigers runners-up at Warner Invitational

WARNER — The Central Lady Tigers were runners-up at the Warner Invitational, which took place April 7.

The Lady Tigers were second with 90 points, finishing five points behind the team champion and host Warner Lady Eagles, who had 95 points.

The Lady Tigers had three individual champions as Sara Williams won the 400-meter dash (1:02.07), Alyvia Warner took the top spot in the 300-meter hurdles (49.56 seconds) and Charlie Petree took gold in the shot put (36-8).

The Lady Tigers’ 800-meter relay team of Warner, Kaitlin Clark, Cambree Bair and Williams won with a time of 1:51.95, while the foursome of Warner, Sadie Huff, Bair and Williams came in first in the 1,600-meter relay (4:20.94).

As for other Central individuals, Huff was third (2:35.67), Xhayla Mosby was 21st (3:08.85) and Rileigh Ford was 22nd (3:10.95) in the 800-meter run, Clark was sixth in the 100-meter dash (13.79 seconds), Scarlett Harrison was sixth (6:51.29), Mosby was ninth (7:20.02) and Polina Lukasa was 12th (8:32.86) in the 1,600-meter run, Jhaselyn Gonzalez was eighth (1:09.18) and Clark was 10th (1:09.93) in the 400-meter dash, Keeley Poindexter was 22nd (31.69) and Harrison was 25th (32.63) in the 200-meter dash.

As for other Lady Tigers’ relay teams, Gonzalez, Huff, Poindexter and Clark were third in the 400-meter relay (54.15 seconds).

For the Tigers, Central’s Braxton Prewett edged out Gore’s Zac Comer to win the shot put as Prewett had a winning distance of 409, while Comer’s throw went 39-9.5.

Central’s Gavin Randolph took the gold in the 400-meter dash (50.86).

As for Central individuals, Randolph was fourth (11.95 seconds), Riley Walters was 26th (13.34) and Prewett was 35th (14.48) in the 100-meter dash, Mason Louthan was 27th (1:06.4) and Walters was 28th (1:07.63) in the 400-meter dash and Louthan was 30th (2916) and Walters was 32nd (29.6) in the 200-meter dash.

The Central track teams will return to action at 9 a.m. Monday at the Keys Invitational for their final regularseason meet of the year.
