The Muldrow Bulldogs ended last week in the best way possible — beating archrival Roland.
The ’Dogs celebrated Senior Night with a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Friday evening.
The Bulldogs actually ended the week on a three-game winning streak after opening the week with a 2-0 road District 4A-8 loss to the Eufaula Ironheads on April 13.
The ’Dogs avenged the district loss to Eufaula by knock off the Ironheads 9-5 at home on April 14, then blanked the Fort Gibson Tigers 6-0 last Thursday in a game played at Sallisaw High School’s “Turf of Dreams,” since Muldrow’s home field was too wet on which to play.
Im the win over Roland, the Bulldogs (913) scored twice in the seventh inning for the walk-off victory over their archrivals.
For the game, Jack Rhoads was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in, while Wyatt Prewett was 2-for-3 for Muldrow.
Wyatt Prewett (2-2) got the complete-game victory as he struck out 12 Roland batters in seven innings and threw a three-hitter.
In the victory over Fort Gibson, the ’Dogs scored four runs in the first inning and twice in the second inning for a 6-0 lead after two innings.
Jace Prewett (1-1) got his first win of the season, going the first five innings with seven strikeouts. Brody Israel went the final two innings.
In the home district win over Eufaula, trailing 3-0 in the third inning, the Bulldogs (3-9 in district play) scored four runs in the third inning for a 4-3 lead. After the Ironheads regained the lead at 5-4 in the fourth inning, the ’Dogs responded with a threerun fourth inning and a two-run sixth inning to get the come-frombehind win.
For the game, Jace Prewett doubled with a run batted in, Rhodes tripled with two RBIs and a run scored and Gabe Miller singled with three runs scored and an RBI for Muldrow.
Hayden McKinster (2-4) got the completegame victory, striking out 12 batters in seven innings.
In the road district loss to Eufaula, the pitching duo of Fischer McAllister and Beau Tarron combined to three-hit the Bulldogs.
In defeat, Israel and Wyatt Prewett doubled, while Miler singled for the ’Dogs.
Wyatt Prewett was the hard-luck loser as he struck out seven batters in six innings.
