Funeral services for Essie Rhae (Turner) Hixson, 81, of Muldrow, were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at the Muldrow Church of the Nazarene. Burial followed at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Hixon was born on Nov. 27, 1943, in Fort Smith, Ark. to Hallie Louise (Gammill) Turner and Elbert Charles Turner. She died on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024.
She retired from Rheem Manufacturing and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors are her husband, Jerry Hixson, of the home; two sons, Jerry Dale Hixson, Jr. of Muldrow and Michael Hixson and wife Becca of Yukon; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren ; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Jessie Fay Turner, Mary Ward and Betty Horn; and a brother, E.C. Turner.
Pallbearers were Michael Hixson, Wyatt Hixson, David Hixson, Kenny Hixson, Josh McCleod and Jackson Faulkner.
