Funeral services for Carol “Mema” Shamblin, 82, of Roland, were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow. Burial followed at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Services, Inc.
Mrs. Shamblin was born on Oct. 7, 1942, in Fort Smith, Ark. to Pearl Maxine (Stevenson) Irvine and Raymond Ford Hindman. She died on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, in Fort Smith.
She was married to Carlos J.E. Shamblin, who preceded her in death on March 21, 1990. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are two daughters, Rhonda Reese-Davenport and husband Rick of Fort Smith and Christina Martin of Roland; son, Jimmy Crow of Fort Smith; four grandchildren ;numerous greatgrandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson; her parents; and three brothers, Doyle, Dale and Keith Hindman.
