Funeral services for Billy Mack Sanders, 75, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at McCoy Ford Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Sanders was born on May 21, 1940, in the Badger Lee community to Oleta Charlene (Davis) and Mose Foch Sanders. He died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, in Henryetta.
He was married to Jeanie (Calhoun) Sanders in the Brent community, and they were married for 61 years until her passing in 2021.
He was a union carpenter for Manhatten Construction for over 31 years, and loved to hunt, fish, play dominoes, and gardening.
Survivors are three daughters, Sherree Reid and Roy of Coweta, Marlia Ballard and Scott McDaniel of Durant, and Billie Jo Claunts and John of Muskogee; son, Michael Sanders and Michelle of Sallisaw; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Fields and Judy Webb and husband Larry; and other family members and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra J. Coday; and brothers, Terry C. Sanders and Mose Sanders.
Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Chad Reid, Marlissa Sheffield, Sara Furr, Keach Ballard, Brandon Young, Ashley Keath, Myka Rhodes, Kristin Cranford, and Johnathon Mack Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Webb, Johnny Walkingstick, Terry Pruitt, John William Adair, and members of the First Baptist Church Sunday School Class taught by Ray Sparks.
