Sept. 3, 1934 – Dec. 6, 2024

Funeral services for Charles Lutz, 90, of Sallisaw, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Lutz was born on Sept. 3, 1934, in Okmulgee to Wilson Lutz and Adele Victria (Harrison) Lutz. He died on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, in Sallisaw.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired electrician from Rheem Manufacturing Company. He was the former president of the Steel Workers Union in Fort Smith. He enjoyed fishing and participating in raft racing.

Survivors include three daughters, Dana Lutz and Sharon and Michael Rogers, all of Sallisaw and Shanna Lutz McMellon and Jon of Van Buren, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy (Patton) Lutz on Dec. 31, 2016; sister, Mary; brother, Carroll; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Joshua Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Landon Powers, Dale Calvert, Casey Rogers, Craig Lutz, Ben Lutz, Keith Lutz and Jason McAlester.
