He was a 2013 Sallisaw High School graduate, attended Carl Albert State College, and enjoyed fishing. He appreciated his employment opportunities with Sallisaw Lumber, McGowan’s Tree Service, C and J Forms and Label Co. with Damon Harris and Gary and Emily Crum’s Air-Con.
Survivors are two daughters, Aaliyah L. Johnson and Alyvia J. Johnson, and their mother Sydney Shell; his mother, Kristy; father, Bear and Angela Davis; grandfather, Larry Johnson; uncles, John Watson and Rick Lunsford of Sallisaw and Sam Bitar of California; aunts, Audrey Johnson of Texas and Kim Crider of California; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Paula P. Johnson and Myrna M. Story; great-grandmother, Billie “Gigi” Ramsey; uncle, William Tarrant; and aunt, Leslie Johnson.
Services for Derrick Allen Johnson, 30, were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Sallisaw Cemetery under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc. of Sallisaw.
Mr. Johnson was born on July 6, 1994, in Fort Smith Ark., to Lawrence David “Bear” Johnson Jr.
