Robert Edward Blaylock

June 28, 1935 – Sept. 1, 2024

Celebration of Life service for Robert Edward Blaylock, 89, was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Owasso.

Mr. Blaylock was born on June 28, 1935, in Chattanooga, to Cecil and Fannie Blaylock. He died on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024.

He was a 1953 graduate of Muldrow High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball. After graduation, he signed to play baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He was also inducted into the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Hall of Fame for his basketball achievements in 2012, and was the first Hall of Fame inductee at Muldrow High School in 2014.

He married Barbara Thompson on Oct 3, 1956. They had three children, Robyn, Russ and Terri.

After his baseball career he raised his family in Tulsa where he managed the Saratoga Hotel and owned the Saratoga Restaurant until retiring in 1997. After his retirement he bought a farm in Talala, where he raised racehorses and cattle.

Survivors are sister and brother-in-law, Lois Jo Flanagan and OC; nine grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Wanda Blaylock; and one infant sister, Glenna Fay Blaylock.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, John Einhellig, Tyler Lambert, Justin and Josh Beal, and Luke and Jake Blaylock.

Jimmie Taylor ‘Jim’ McCleod

Nov. 7, 1939 – Sept. 9, 2024

Funeral services for Jimmie Taylor “Jim” McCleod, 84, of Muldrow, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the Church of the Nazarene in Muldrow.

Burial was at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services.

Mr. McCleod was born on Nov. 7, 1939, in Paw Paw to Hobson Mc-Cleod and Hazel Irene (Humphries) McCleod. He died on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, in Muldrow.

He was a highway inspector for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed spending time with his family and staying busy.

Survivors include his children, Cathy and Gil Brown, Mark and Teresa McCleod, Dave McCleod, and Cindy and Gary Pratt; siblings, Geneva Smith and Linda Meeks; 11 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie; son, James S. McCleod; sisters, Mary Flatt and Betty Bell; and brothers, Leroy and Jerry Mc-Cleod.

Pallbearers were Dave McCleod, Stephen “Tiny Man” McCleod, Joshua McCleod, Jacob McCleod, Mark McCleod, and the late Steve McCleod.
