Corena ‘Maxine’ Mathews

Sept. 12, 1957 – July 2, 2024

Funeral services for Corena “Maxine” Mathews, 66, of Muldrow, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw.

Burial was at Seabolt Cemetery under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services.

Mrs. Mathews was born on Sept. 12, 1957, in Stilwell to Harold and Corena Roastingear. She died on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Spiro.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed taking trips and attending concerts with friends.

Survivors include her companion, Ricky McCoy; children, Keith Mathews and Phillip Mathews both of the home and Kaitlyn Mathews of Nicut; siblings, James Roastingear of Brushy, Phillip Roastingear of Lindsey and Mary Soap of Tahlequah; several grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip Mathews; siblings, Karen Cheater, Jennie Roastingear, Johnny Roastingear and David Roastingear; and a granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Keith Mathews, Gregory Mathews, Andrew Mathews, Don Paul Mathews, Jason Bush and Blake Farmer.
