Graveside services for Wilburn Henry Rogers, 87, of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Northview Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Rogers was born on Feb. 23, 1937, to Geneva (Taylor) Rogers and Earl Jay Rogers. He died on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He was married to Evelyn Jane “Polly” Asbill on Oct. 17, 1961, in Stilwell. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2013.
Survivors are three sisters-in-law, Sue (Asbill) Osburn, Jackie (Asbill) Rogers and Phyliss Pederson; one brother, Roy Wayne Rogers and Pamela of Sallisaw; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Dee Asbill and Beverly of Liberty and Jim Bordelon of La Place, La.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Vearl Dean, Garlen, Arlen, Marchel and Hubert; and two sisters, Velma Boyd and Anna Christine Bordelon.
Pallbearers were Franklin Rogers, Jimmy Bordelon, Michael Rogers, Ashley Rogers, Casey Rogers, Christopher Ward, Joseph Ward, Josh Rogers and Caleb Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers were Cynthia (Rogers) Ward, Sharon Rogers, Brandon Hamilton and Curtis Eppler.
