Graveside services for Sadie (Tootle) Jackson, 96, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Brent Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Brent to Fannie (Cox) Tootle and Charles Tootle. She died on April 12, 2024 in Sapulpa.
She was married to James Samuel Jackson on June 19, 1957 in Stilwell. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2004.
She began working as an operator at a telephone company in Arvin, Calif., and continued working for AT&T after she moved back to Sallisaw until retiring in the early 1970s. She and her husband opened The Sport Shop in Sallisaw. After they closed the store, they opened Jackson’s Department Store in Sallisaw.
Survivors are two daughters, Linda Copeland and Carrol of Sallisaw and Brenda Lyons and Danny of Sapulpa; one son, James Charles Jackson and Lisa of Houston; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Aaron, Marion “Sammy,” Charles Jr. “Dobbin,” Cleo, Arvil, Juanita, Governor and Patricia.
