Funeral services for Consuelo Resendez, 84, of Modesto, Calif., were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.

Burial was at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Sacramento, Calif., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Resendez was born on July 24, 1939, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Juliana Reyes and Manuel Resendez. She died on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in Sallisaw.

She was a sanitation worker at a canning factory. Survivors include her children, Juliana Esteban of Glendale, Ariz., Raymond Esteban and Renee of Sallisaw, Raquel Esteban and Thomas Barrera of Modesto, Victor Esteban of Sallisaw, Carlos Esteban of Sallisaw, Gilbert Esteban of Modesto, Ruben Esteban of Modesto and Consuelo Ortiz of Glendale; one brother, Pedro Nava of Sacramento and nine siblings; 16 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carmen Nava; and two brothers, Josè Nava and Jose Resendez.
