Memorial services for Ava D. “Penny” Peters, 84, of Muldrow, were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Peters was born on Oct. 14, 1939, in Dardanelle, Ark., to Louise (Grinstead) Williams and Wylie Williams. She died on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, in Muldrow.
She was married to Harold Phillip Peters on Aug. 15, 1959, in Waynesburg, Pa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2021.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and of the Christian faith. She was proud to have ran with the Olympic Torch in Texas in 1984. She enjoyed studying the Bible.
Survivors are a daughter, Dina Cox and Anthony of Muldrow; son, Ken Peters and Jolie of Muldrow; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janie Hill of Muldrow; and several other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Peters; son, Harold Phillip Peters II; grandson, Blaze McMullan; her parents; and a sister, Bettye J. Temple.
