The Sequoyah County Times and The Mix 105.1 KXMX Radio are accepting questions for the upcoming public forum for candidates from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 in the People Inc. Conference Center in Sallisaw.
You may email questions to question@cook-son.news.
“We have had people asking us about the ability to submit questions and we are happy to receive them,” Jeff Mayo, Sequoyah County Times publisher said. “We will not say who submitted any question and we cannot guarantee we will ask ones that we receive. But, we feel the questions submitted could give us an even better idea of what candidate positions voters want to hear about.”
Candidates running for the offices of Oklahoma House of Representatives Districts 2 and 15, and Senate District 4 have all agreed to attend. Candidates attending are: House District 2, Tom Stites and Jim Olsen; House District 15, Judy Ross Moore and Randy Randleman; and Senate District 4, Mark Allen and Eddie Martin.
The event will be live-streamed on the Sequoyah County Times Facebook page and at www.chsn.tv.
The forum will be moderated by Marley Abell. Names of candidates will be drawn from a hat to determine the order of opening statements, questions and closing statements. No electronic devices will be allowed, including but not limited to mobile phones, iPads/ tablets, teleprompter apps, etc.
The forum is scheduled to last 90 minutes and the number of questions asked will depend on the amount of time spent on each question.
