Central Tigers fall to Dewar, Gore
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor,

The Central Tigers baseball team fell in both games played last week, losing 15-7 in five innings at Dewar on March 31 before losing 6-0 to Gore at home last Friday.

In the loss to Dewar, the Dragons broke a 2-all tie with a four-run second inning to take the lead for good at 6-2. The Tigers (2-7) cut their deficit to 6-3 after two innings but got no closer as the Dragons had an 11-5 lead after three innings and a 12-5 advantage after four innings. A three-run fifth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Kage Poindexter was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a run batted in, Waylon Campbell doubled with an RBI, Kaw-Liga Lewis hit his first home run of the season which was a tworun shot, Paitton Merrill homered for the first time this season which also was a two-run shot and Ryker Miller hit a solo homer for his first round-tripper of the season for Central.

Tite Cox (2-1) suf- fered his first loss of the season, going two innings. Campbell went the final three innings with two strikeouts.

In the loss to Gore, Gore’s duo of Jesse Reeves and Gage Dame combined to one-hit the Tigers, with that hit being Merrill’s single.

The Pirates had a pair of three-run outbursts in the third and seventh innings.

Kiefer Bailey (0-2) took the loss, despite striking out six batters in five innings. Cox went the final two innings.
