Muldrow Bulldogs suffer baseball district losses to Broken Bow, lose to Panama, Vian
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

It was a tough week of baseball last week for the Muldrow Bulldogs as they lost all four games played.

The week started by losing a pair of District 4A-8 road games to the Broken Bow Savages by scores of 13-3 in five innings and 11-1 in six innings on March 30 in Broken Bow.

After losing 11-8 last Thursday at Panama, the week ended with a 15-1 three-inning loss to Vian at home on Good Friday.

In the district-opening loss to Broken Bow, the Savages rallied from a 3-2 third-inning deficit with a four-run third inning and a seven-run fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Jack Rhodes was 3-for-3 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored, Brody Israel was 2-for-2, Gabe Miller doubled and scored once and Jace Prewett doubled with an RBI and a run scored for the Bulldogs (2-12 overall, 0-8 in district play).

Hunter Horton (0-1) suffered the loss, going the first four innings. Dawson Stone went the rest of the way.

In the district nightcap loss to Broken Bow in which Muldrow was the home team, the Savages jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning for a 9-0 lead. A run in the sixth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Miller, Jace Prewett and Jackson Phillips each singled for Muldrow.

Hayden McKinster (0-4) took the loss, although he fanned two batters in five innings.

In the loss to Panama, after the ’Dogs took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, the Razorbacks scored eight runs in their half of the frame to take an 8-3 lead. The Bulldogs scored three runs in the second inning to cut their deficit to 8-6 after two innings but got no closer.

In defeat, McKinster was 2-for-4 with a double, his first home run of the season and three RBIs, Wyatt Prewett was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a runs scored and Israel was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Muldrow.

Rhodes (0-2) suffered the loss, despite fanning four batters in five innings. Jace Prewett pitched a scoreless sixth inning with a strikeout.

In the loss to Vian, the Wolverines scored twice in the first inning, 10 runs in the second inning and three runs in the third inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Wyatt Prewett singled and scored Muldrow’s lone run in the second inning, while Israel singled for the only hits off Vian pitching.

Wyatt Prewett (1-1) suffered his first loss of the season, going the first 1.1 innings with two strikeouts. Ashton Jones went the final 1.2 innings with a strikeout.
