WISTER — The Central Lady Tigers saw their 2025 slow-pitch softball season come to a close at the Class 3A District Tournament on April 21.
After the Lady Tigers defeated the Gore Lady Pirates 11-3 in six innings, the Lady Pirates avenged that loss with a 10-0, four-inning victory to eliminate the Lady Tigers — who lost in the game before 13-0 to the host Lady Wildcats in three innings.
In the win over Gore, the Lady Tigers (8-11) broke a scoreless tie with a single run in the fourth inning, four runs in the fifth inning and six runs in the sixth inning for an 11-0 lead to put the game into runrule status.
For the game, Camryn Gilliam was 3-for-4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored, Charlie Petree was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, Ayrland Jiles was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Keeley Poindexter was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Alyvia Warner was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Central. Gretchen Reed (3-6) got the win.
In the loss to Wister, all the Lady Tigers could muster were three hits — a single apiece from Petree, Poindexter and Brianna Taylor The Lady Wildcats put away the game with a 10-run first inning.
Reed suffered the loss.
In the season-ending loss to Gore, the Lady Pirates broke a scoreless deadlock with a 10-run fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Poindexter, Warner and Riley Rowland each singled for Central’s three hits off Gore pitcher Mylee Bruce. Reed took the loss.
