Sallisaw Veterans Home passes recognition survey

The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA) has announced that the Sallisaw Veterans Home has passed its federal recognition survey, and has begun its full admissions process for eligible veterans.

Recognition surveys evaluate compliance with federal requirements for veterans’ homes. Areas reviewed include clinical services, staffing, resident safety, infection control, environmental standards, and administration.

“We’re extremely excited that the Sallisaw Veterans Home staff is fully ready to serve veterans in the state of Oklahoma,” Shawn Kirkland, Chief Operating Officer of ODVA said.

The Sallisaw Veterans Home is one of seven stateoperated veterans homes managed by ODVA, providing long-term care to eligible veterans from all states.

For eligibility or admissions questions, call Candice McIntire at 405-523-4092, or email candice.mcintire@odva.ok.gov.
