The town of Muldrow will observe National Day of Prayer at noon on Thursday, May 1, at the Muldrow Town Park and encourages members of the community to join in the town’s 32nd year of observance.
Muldrow First Baptist Church pastor Mark Porter will serve as leaders of this year’s event. Special music will be provided by the Muldrow Elementary Bulldoggies, the high school Show Choir and the high school band.
Muldrow Mayor Catherine Jones signed a proclamation on Monday, joined by National Day of Prayer Committee members, Kellie Richmond and Sherry Fugett.
According to www.nationaldayofprayer. org, prayers will be led for the family, church, military, government, business and workplace, education, arts, media and entertainment.
The first observance in Muldrow began in 1993.
If inclement weather occurs, the event will be moved to Eastside Freewill Baptist Church.
The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for 7 a.m. May 1 at Muldrow Assembly of God.
