Central Tigers lose Spring Break games to Muldrow, Talihina

baseball team suffered two Spring Break Week home games losses after losing a road game to Spiro.

After the Tigers lost 18-5 in three innings at Spiro on March 13, they lost 8-2 at home March 17 to the Muldrow Bulldogs and fell 10-9 at home March 18 to the Talihina Golden Tigers.

In the loss to Spiro, after the Tigers (3-6) scored three runs in the first inning, the Bulldogs put away the game with a 13-run first inning and a five-run second inning for an 18-3 lead after two innings.

In defeat, Kiefer Bailey, Ryker Miller, Kyle Harden and Waylen Campbell each singled and scored once, Paitton Merrill and Kyle Harden each singled with a run batted in, Kage Poindexter and Xhaiden Mosby each singled and Hardy Buzzard had an RBI for Central.

Buzzard (0-3) suffered the loss, only getting the first two outs of the game, one of which was by strikeout. Harden went the final 1.1 innings with a strikeout.

In the loss to Muldrow, the Bulldogs rallied from a 1-0 first-inning deficit with a pair of three-run innings in the third and fourth innings to take the lead for good at 6-1.

In defeat, Buzzard doubled with an RBI, Miller doubled and Campbell had an RBI for the Tiger.

Miller (0-1) suffered the loss, going the first 4.1 innings with eight strikeouts. Campbell went the final 2.2 innings with three Ks.

In the loss to Talihina, the Tigers tried to rally late but came up short.

The Golden Tigers scored three runs in the first inning, once in the third inning and three more runs in the fourth inning for a 7-0 lead.

The Tigers scored six runs in the fifth inning to cut their deficit to 7-6, but a three-run seventh inning for Talihina upped its advantage to 10-6.

The Tigers scored three runs in the seventh inning to cut the Talihina lead 10-9 and had the tying run at second base, but Talihina pitcher Kaden Cossey retired the next batter to preserve the victory for the Golden Tigers.

In defeat, Buzzard was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs batted in and two runs scored, Poindexter was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Miller doubled, scored twice and had an RBI for Central.

Bailey (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season, going the first 3.1 innings with five strikeouts. Buzzard went the final 3.2 innings with a strikeout.
