Walter Lee Barker

March 28, 1938 – Jan. 18, 2025

Celebration of Life Service for Walter Lee Barker, 86, of Muldrow, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Cherokee Community Center in Muldrow.

Mr. Barker was born on March 28, 1938, in Winslow, Ark. to Albert and Evelyn Barker. He passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025.

He was a Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Korean War. He chose a commercial construction career, beginning as an iron worker and worked his way up to general superintendent.

Survivors are his children, Karen Peoples of Fort Smith, Ark., Pete Galyean and wife Janet of Houston, Debra Worrell and husband Ricky of Muldrow, Elizabeth Barker of Muldrow, and Melissa Reuter and husband Rev of Augusta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Littleton of Pocola; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Agnes; his parents; and most of his siblings.
