Funeral services for Coach Shane Richardson, 45, of Tahlequah were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at Calvary Temple Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Coach Richardson was born on July 30, 1979, in Fort Smith, Ark. to Vicky and Billy Richardson. He passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.
He graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1998 and attended Carl Albert State College and Northeastern State University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree. He coached at Sallisaw and Sequoyah-Tahlequah. He enjoyed fishing and visiting casinos.
Survivors are his girlfriend, Amy Young of Broken Arrow; parents, of Sallisaw; three sisters, Tiffany Turner and Michael of Muldrow, Amy Callahan and Brent of Sallisaw and Amber Spencer and Steven of Sallisaw; two brothers, Brandon Richardson and girlfriend Kelli Sizemore of Sallisaw and Matthew Richardson of Sallisaw; and numerous other family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Trevor Philpot, Caleb Philpot, Zeke Callahan, Judd Callahan, Brent Callahan, Michael Turner and Steven Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers were Landon Crutchfield and Ivan Spencer.
