Funeral services for Phyllis (Sasnett) Duty, 85, were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent and Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Mrs. Duty was born on May 11, 1939, in Red Oak, to Yuther Irene (Duke) Sasnett and James Edgar Sasnett. She passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, in Sallisaw.
She was an active member of the Faith Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed clogging, antiquing, playing cards, reading, and ceramics.
Survivors are her husband, Cecil, of the home; daughter, Carla Howard and Bryan of Pocola; son, Christopher Duty of Akins; sister, Darlene Duncan and Craig of Moore; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tori Mills; sister, Connie Cochran; and brother, James “Damon” Sasnett.
Pallbearers were Bobby Walters, Dean Myers, Dennis Brewer, Steve Cochran, Ryan Cochran and Craig Duncan.
