AMERICA…Happy Thanksgiving!
Be Thankful! Shout Joyfully! Worship God!
By Shirley R. Watts

“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvat ion…Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms… For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods” (Ps. 95:1-3,6-8).

What a great time to be able to sing, shout, praise and worship God the Creator and to offer thanksgiving to Him who is the One and Only All Powerful and Living God! Amen!

Let all who love Him, worship Him! Do you love Him? Do you worship Him?

Worship with me! “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord, shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation, as we come before His presence with thanksgiving;” (95:1-2).

Why should we sing and shout with joy as we give thanks to Him for all He is and has done? We sing and shout because He is “the Lord, the Great God, and King above all!

This world needs to hear some real singing and shouting today. We have something to sing and shout about, so let’s do it! Sing and shout the gospel of Christ so the lost will hear and come to Christ before it is too late. We will all sing in one accord when we sing together. We have the perfect voices. Be a member of God’s choir!

God loves us and He deserves all that we are or ever will be. We must serve Him with enthusiasm and remain focused on Him and His love. Let us look and act like Him. Let us glorify him…make Him look good!

The word “come” in verse 2 means that we go to meet God. We come into His presence. When we are humble in prayer, desire to see and meet with Him in praise and worship we must realize that we are in the presence of the Holy God. This is humbling.

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water” (Heb 10:1922).

Praise God we are able to come into His presence. We praise Him because He alone is God.

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;” (Ps.18:2).

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker … For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand” (Ps. 95:6-7a.”

Being in His presence is a very special time.

Are you a born again child of God? He has made us, saved us and cares for us. Let’s sing and shout as we worship Him.

Let’s sing, shout, praise, give thanks as we worship and not forget to study His Word, for it is when we study that we learn how to worship Him. Also we are able to be obedient. Let us not become cold and hardhearted toward Him. Remember the Israelites at Kadesh-Barnea. (Numbers 13-14) “Today, if you will hear His voice: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,” (95:7b).

Many who attend worship services do not experience true worship. Their heart is not seeking God in worship. They can’t sing and shout with thanksgiving.

Let us not forget what He has done for us. Let us be faithful to Him. When we remember Him, then we can come into His presence singing, shouting, and giving thanks. This is worship!

What has He done in your life?

What are you doing in obedience to Him?

Do you love Him? Can you say: “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works…I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High” (Ps. 9:1-2).

Unbelievers: God loves you and seeks to save you.
