June 27, 1953 – Sept. 21, 2024

Funeral services for Rick Pendergrass, 71, of Muldrow, were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow.

Burial followed at Maple Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. Pendergrass was born on June 27, 1953, in Sallisaw, to Wilma (Henson) Pendergrass and Charles Pendergrass. He died on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.

He was married to Virginia Peters on Jan. 20, 1989.

He was a rural letter carrier and retired from the Muldrow Post Office after 31 years. He was a member of Bruton Lodge No. 30 and Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and hang out at Rick’s Tire.

Survivors are wife, Virginia, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Perrier and Matt of Broken Arrow; son, Chad Pratt and Megan of Muldrow; three grandchildren; two sisters, Carlene Brunk of Van Buren, Ark., and Marlene Matlock and Paul of Roland; and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law.

Pallbearers were Rick Turpin, Tony Floyd, David Brown, David Taylor, Larry Dyer, Ron Lockhart, Jeremy Armstrong and Bob Anglen.

Honorary pallbearers were Roger Fuller, Ronnie Vest, Bruton Lodge No. 30 and the Eastside Freewill Baptist “OP” Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
