Muldrow Lady Bulldogs drop all three districts games last week
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

It was a rough week District 4A-6 softball for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs as they lost all three district games — losing 5-1 to Poteau at home Sept. 16, losing an 8-0 third-inning lead to fall 9-8 to the host Sallisaw Lady Diamonds on Sept. 17 and getting blanked 9-0 by Stigler on Thursday.

In the loss to Poteau, the Lady Pirates broke a 1-all tie with a two-run third inning and a tworun seventh inning.

The lone run for the Lady Bulldogs (8-16 overall, 1-8 in district play) scored on Amaya Duran’s RBI groundout in the first inning to knot the game at 1-all.

In defeat, Danica Tune doubled, while Amarie Duran singled for the only hits off Poteau starter Emma Hackler, who struck out nine batters in seven innings.

Jaydin Dean (6-8) suffered the loss.

In the loss to Sallisaw, the Lady Diamonds capped a comeback by scoring twice in the third inning to cut the deficit to 8-2, then scored three runs in each the fourth and fifth innings to knot the game at 8-all and scored the game-winning run in the sixth inning.

In defeat, Kaydence Young was 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI for Muldrow. Young (2-8) took the loss, despite striking out five batters.

In the loss to Stigler, Stigler pitcher Cambry Cook threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts.

The Lady Panthers broke a scoreless tie with a six-run third inning and a three-run sixth inning.

In defeat, Tune was 2-for-3, while Amarie Duran singled for the only hits for the Lady Bulldogs.

Dean suffered the loss, going the first five innings with two strikeouts. Young went the final inning.
