Funeral services for Jewel “Granny” Barfield, 99, of Sallisaw and formerly of Elk City, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.
Burial was at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, Texas, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Barfield was born on Nov. 26, 1924, in Paden, to Mary Ann “Molly” (Newton) Bettis and John P. Bettis. She died on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in Vian.
She was a homemaker who loved arts and crafts, fishing and working in the yard.
Survivors are one son, Harry Roth and Susanne of Sallisaw; one daughter-in-law, Audrey Roth of Akins; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Roth and Charles Barfield; two daughters, Sharon Rhoden and Linda Hall; two sons, Garry and Michael Roth; her parents; two grandchildren, Regina and Marvin; and several brothers and sisters.
