Muldrow, Roland cross country runners perform at Poteau Invitational

POTEAU — The Muldrow and Roland cross country runners represented Sequoyah County in Friday morning’s Poteau Invitational, which took place at Carl Albert State College.

In the boys’ 5,000-meter race, two local runners made the top 10 as Roland’s Landon Killer was third (19:12) and Muldrow’s Jesse Kilinc was sixth (19:58.95).

As a team, the Bulldogs were sixth with 129 points. The Rangers did not have enough runners to have a full team for team scoring.

As for other Bulldogs, Kendal Howell was 23rd (22:16.48), Kaden Rye was 31st (22:54.97), Jaxson Anstine was 34th (23:11.42), Zeeshan Bukhari was 69th (27:56.31), Brady Brasher was 70th (28:05.97), Seth Nance was 74th (29:14.43), Jack Pyeatt was 76th (32:09.97), Parker Sevenstar was 78th (36:20.5) and De-Shawn Lovett was 79th (39:00.47).

The Rangers had a total of three runners hit the course. Besides Killer, Josh Bower was 27th (22:40.95), while Hunter Lowe was 65th (26:38.44).

In the high school girls’ two-mile race, the Lady Bulldogs were fourth (100 points), with the Lady Rangers right behind them in fifth place (138).

Muldrow’s Genna Stephenson made the top 10 as she was sixth (14:53.2), followed by Emma Fields in 20th place (16:01.08), Jensi Fields in 24th place (16:51.67), Isabelle Rogers in 28th place (17:23.33), Noa Coleman in 32nd place (18:15.39) and Maysi Fields in 35th place (18:47.12).

Roland’s Molly Carver made the top 15 as she was 12th (15:09.23). As for other Lady Rangers, Cadence Cole was 30th (18:05.13), Abby Bower was 34th (18:34.56), Anistyn Howard was 37th (19:12.77) and Mira Reagan was 39th (19:50.4).

Roland had three Rangers and one Lady Ranger run in the twomile race. For the Rangers, Dylan Lowe was 10th (14:14.8), Tommie Greschke was 11th (14:19.8) and Novion Reagan was 15th (14:42.7). In the JH girls’ race, Baylee Serjeant was ninth (16:44.39).

The Muldrow runners will compete in the Muskogee Invitational beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The Roland runners will be idle until the Muldrow Invitational, which will start at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19.
