July 10, 1945 – Aug. 22, 2024

Funeral services for Dennis McClure, 79, of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.

Burial followed at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. McClure was born on July 10, 1945, in Van Buren, Ark., to Maxine (Sullivan) Mc-Clure and Clarence McClure. He died on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, in Sallisaw.

He was married to Shelba Paulette Rogers on Dec. 16, 1972, in Marble City.

He was an independent route salesman for Guys Potato Chips and enjoyed Nascar. He was a member of Victory Temple Holiness Church, where he taught Sunday School for 37 years and was a fill-in pastor for five years.

Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Shelba Mc-Clure; two daughters, Theresa L. Rogers and husband Jay, and Sheryl D. Dawson; one son, Linvel P. Merrill, Jr. and wife Rhonda; son-in-law, Daryl Goodwin; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell J. McClure and wife Margaret; one sister-in-law, Judy McClure-Lincks and husband Fred; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Paula Goodwin; and two brothers, David J. McClure and Rick McClure.

Pallbearers were Tom Rogers, Jimmy Dale Rogers, Steve McClure, Bill McClure, Jacob Goodwin, Jace Goodwin, Jay Rogers and Uriah Grass.

Honorary pallbearers were Carol Satterfield, Don Robertson, Heath Branham, Jeron Miller and Daryl Goodwin.
