Donald Ray Davis

Jan. 21, 1936 – Aug. 5, 2024

Donald Ray Davis, 88, of Muldrow passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024. He was the son of Mr. Pete Davis and Mrs. Hazel Woodward Davis. He was born on Jan. 21, 1936, in Fort Smith, Ark.

No formal service is planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis served five Tours in Thailand, three at Nakhon Phanom where he met his wife, Pluemjit. One tour at-Tapao where all the B-52’s staged out of. He also Served 14 months at Udorn where he flew 80 combat missions aboard an Airborne Command Control Center. They flew 12 hour missions directing all aircraft to their targets in Laos, Vietnam, and North Vietnam.

He was also involved in air rescue missions when aircraft and crew were on the ground. He was stationed in Midway Island, Guam, Resolution Island, Philippines and Thailand for 4 1/2 years. He had been to Mexico, Labrador, Baffin Island, Japan, Hawaii, Taiwan, Wake Island Vietnam, Okinawa, Kwajalein Island, Loas, Canada and Alaska. He spent 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring on July 1, 1975. He later retired from Westark Community College in Fort Smith, Ark. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W D.A.V. and Arma.

Survivors are two daughters, Donna Davis Woods and Malina Hunter; three step-sons, Viranit Mookkung, Sam Mookkung and Thatwaichai Davis; one brother, Dwight Davis; two sisters, Sylvia Brooks and Ruth Harris; 13 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pluemjit (Dang) Davis; two brothers, Ronnie and Will; and one sister, Mary Seay.
