Two indicted following execution of search warrant
Second warrant to be served in eight months where Massey was present
By AMIE CATO-REMER EDITOR,

Two Muldrow residents are facing felony drug related and child neglect charges after they were allegedly found to be using and distributing narcotics in front of two minors.

Daniel W. Massey, 57, was formally charged on June 5 in Sequoyah County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs, maintaining place for keeping/selling a controlled substance, and child neglect. He is now scheduled for a June 26 felony disposition docket.

Memory D. Massey, 30, was charged with child neglect on June 10 and a warrant was issued for her arrest the same day. She received a $5,000 bond and is set for a June 19 arraignment.

Daniel Massey was already facing three felony charges of unlawful use of a communication facility for allegedly using a cell phone to distribute narcotics or other controlled substances in January and February 2024. Each count is punishable by a fine of not less than $5,000, by imprisonment for not more than five years, or both.

Investigators and deputies with the Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s office executed a narcotics search warrant on June 5 at a residence in Gans were Massey was reportedly staying.

Massey, Memory Massey, two females, and two minors were reportedly inside the residence as authorities conducted the search. Police reported finding operational scales with residue, numerous clear baggies containing white crystal-like substances, and two smart phones.

The items were seized as evidence and sent to the state crime lab for further analysis.

According to court documents, this is the second search warrant served at a residence in the past eight months where Massey was found to be in possession of, and allegedly distributing narcotics.

Massey was arrested at that time for trafficking in controlled dangerous substance, maintaining a premise for drug sales, child endangerment, child neglect (all after former felony conviction), possession of drug paraphernalia, and on an outstanding warrant.

District Attorney Jack Thorp said felony child neglect carries a sentence of life imprisonment, a $5,000 fine, or both.
