Roland Rangers suffer road loss to Stilwell
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor,

STILWELL — Just as enthusiastic as the night of Aug. 24 was at Ranger Stadium when the Roland Rangers knocked off the rival Muldrow Bulldogs, it was just the opposite set of emotions Friday night as the Rangers lost 34-19 to the homesteading Stilwell Indians.

The Indians led 7-0 after a period, but they stretched the advantage to 27-0 at halftime with a 20-0 second quarter.

After the Indians scored first in the second half to make their advantage 34-0, the Rangers (1-1) dented the scoreboard for the first time with a Dalton Crossno 1-yard touchdown run. Logan Lorenz’s extra point cut the Roland deficit to 34-7 going into the final period.

Both fourth-quarter scores came by the Rangers as Logen Thomas scored a pair of 1-yard TD runs, but both two-point conversion attempts failed.

Crossno rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown, while Thomas passed for 121 yards.

The biggest problem on the night for the Rangers was keeping possession of the football as they fumbled five times and lost four of them, and Stilwell picked off two Roland passes for a grand total of six takeaways for the Indians.
