Roland – Graveside services for Mark Lee Waits, 66, of Roland, were at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1957, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Juanita Douglas Waits and James Foster Waits. He died on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, in Fort Smith.
He was married to Neta Faye Johnston on April 8, 1994, in Van Buren, Ark.
Mr. Waits worked as a meat cutter. He loved playing music, gardening and working cattle.
Survivors are his wife, Neta Waits of the home; two daughters, Amy Williams and J.R. of Van Buren and Angel Luper and Chris Arthur of Roland; one son, Ronnie Angel and Sara of Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jody Hammons; and one brother, Clifford Waits.
Pallbearers were Andrew Rogers, Austin Luper, Mitch Sparkman, Mack Moad, David Jarrard, Gene Cook and Roy Gene Cook.
