Gans Lady Grizzlies suffer three losses last week
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor,

It was a rough week for the Gans Lady Grizzlies as they suffered three losses.

The week ended with an 8-0 home loss to Indianola on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Grizzlies lost a road game 14-0 to the McCurtain Lady Bulldogs on Aug. 22.

The week started off on the wrong paw for the Lady Grizzlies as they lost their Aug. 21 home game 14-3 to Arkoma.

In the loss to Indianola, the Lady Grizzlies (1-7) only could muster a single by Brianna Burris. Burris (1-4) took the loss, despite striking out seven batters in six innings.

In the loss to McCurtain, the Lady Bulldogs put away the game early with a 13-run first inning.

The Lady Grizzlies only could muster a single apiece by Gabbie Price and Aaliyah Taylor.

Reina Gaona (0-3) took the loss, lasting just two-thirds of an inning. Burris went the final 1.1 innings.

In the loss to Arkoma, the visiting Lady Mustangs jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning en route to a 10-0 advantage in the third inning.

The Lady Grizzlies scored their three runs in the third inning on Price’s inside-the-park home run, an RBI single by Burris and a basesloaded walk to Brighton Dorsey to cut Arkoma’s lead to 10-3.

However, a four-run fourth inning by the Lady Mustangs put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Price hit an inside-the-park homer, Burris had an RBI single and Gaona and Taylor each singled for Gans.

Burris took the loss, despite fanning for batters in 3.2 innings. Gaona recorded the final out.
