Choose You This Day…Jesus Christ!
By Shirley R. Watts,

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve” (Josh. 24:14). “I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

Choice

Today as was in the days of Noah, people make plans for the future, but don’t give much thought for eternity. Many say, ‘there is no God.’ For the most part “There is no fear of God” (Rom. 3:18).

Where will you spend eternity?

Unbeliever, why have you not repented of sin and received forgiveness? Why do you say no?

It all started with man saying, no to God. Man is controlled by sin and he does not seek after God (Rom. 3:10-18). He is dead spiritually. He does not understand and can never please God.

Unbeliever, you do not have to remain “lost.” Jesus died in your place! He offers you forgiveness. Unbelievers are traveling down a wide road. “For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction.

Unbelievers, along with Satan and his angels will be counted in the census of Hell. Again, I say, you do not have to continue on the wide road. Come to Christ by faith and “enter by the narrow gate” (Matt. 7:13-14).

Unbelievers do not want to know the truth about what God has said or done. The lost man prefers to travel with the “bigger crowd” and prefers Satan’s lies. He will blind you to the conviction of God’s Holy Spirit.

Christ loves you! He is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (II Pet. 3:9). “He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Jesus said: “unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Jesus was the only sacrifice for sin and because of Him you can be saved. Will you accept Him by faith? “I am the way” (John 14:6).

Everything!

The Christian has everything in Jesus Christ?

When you confess sin and place your faith in Him you will be justified (declared righteous) by God the Father (Rom. 5:1). The unbeliever cannot have peace (Rom. 3:15).

In Jesus “we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand” (Rom. 5:2). We have access to God. We can come into His presence and speak to Him. Jesus opened up the way. You must know Him and come to the Father by the way of the cross (John 14:6).

Christians “rejoice in hope …” (Rom. 5:2b). “Not only that, but we also glory in tribulations,” (Rom. 3). Our sufferings will never separate us from God. Each trial makes us more like Jesus. Trials purify us!

“The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit…” (Rom. 5:5). The love of God lives in true believers and His love will carry us through each day. Amen!

“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him” (Rom. 5:9). Yes, the wrath of God is coming! It will begin with the Rapture (I Thess. 4) and it will become stronger until Satan and all “rejecters” are cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:1015).

“We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation” (Rom. 5:9-11). We are reconciled to God. Fellowship has been restored through faith in Jesus.

Nothing

Unbeliever, without Jesus Christ you have nothing but torment ahead of you. At this moment, think on Jesus and all He has done just for you. Listen intently as His Holy Spirit convicts you of rejecting Christ. What will you do? Will you continue to travel down the road that leads to eternal destruction?

“Today, if you will hear His voice” (Heb. 4:7). As He speaks you have the opportunity for forgiveness and eternal life. Fall on your knees, confess sin, ask forgiveness and place your faith in Him.

“Behold, now is the day of salvation” (II Cor. 6:2).

Will you rejoice…or reject?

Decide today (James 4:14)!

“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh 24:15).
