Cookson Hills Publishers, Inc., established in 1978, is a family-owned publishing company based in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Currently led by third-generation owners Jeff and Jack Mayo, the company has a rich history in community journalism.

Our portfolio includes nine newspapers across southeast Oklahoma, such as the Sequoyah County Times, Vian Tenkiller News, The Eufaula Indian Journal, McIntosh County Democrat, Okmulgee Times, Henryetta Free-Lance, and Eastern Times-Register in Roland.In October 2023, we expanded our reach by acquiring the Atoka County Times and Stigler News-Sentinel, furthering our commitment to delivering quality journalism to our communities.
