Moffett School students recently attended the Sequoyah County Rural Schools Wellness Event at the Marble City Community Building, along with other students from Belfonte, Brushy, Liberty, and Marble City. Activities included Cherokee Marbles, Breathing/Tai Chi, Flyboat Races, “Where Your Hamburger Comes From,” and Drug Prevention utilizing special goggles, which make the student feel impaired. A delicious lunch was prepared by Chef Don McClellan of rice, mixed vegetables, and chicken with choice of teriyaki sauce, sweet and sour, or Parmesan garlic. A huge thank you to their sponsors: Cherokee Nation, Sallisaw NOW Coalition, Oklahoma State Department of Health, OSU Extension, Marble City Farmers & Art Market, and People Inc. Youth Services.
