The Muldrow Bulldogs finished 12-14 last season, but the playoff run ended abruptly with back-to-back losses to Tulsa McLain — coached by Muldrow boys coach Terry Collins’ former Oklahoma State Cowboys teammate Randy Rutherford — and Hilldale.
The ’Dogs return seven players from a season ago, with six of those seeing an enormous amount of playing time in the 2023-24 season — juniors Teaguen Collins, Jermauree Palmer, DeShawn Willson and Parker Sevenstar and sophomores Jesse Kilinc and Jaxson Anstine.
“I have about four or five players that started last year,” Collins said. “I lost some, and some others went to different schools. I got two support players from last year. They were freshmen who are returning sophomores now. We have a good group of guys who are back who had a significant amount of playing time (last season). Hopefully, that experience of them playing will help us to do better this year.”
Senior Zeeshan Bukhari saw a lot of playing time last year, while one newcomer is former Roland Ranger D.J. Massey.
Rounding out the roster are seniors Brady Boshers and Kendal Howell, juniors Wyatt Prewett and Tyson Williams and sophomores Jack Pyeatt, Kaden Rye and Kolby Sharp.
“Hopefully, that experience that we got last year is going to carry over so we can get further in the playoffs,” Collins said.
The Bulldogs will open the season at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at NOAA Conference rival Stilwell.
