Sequoyah County Commissioners proclaimed the month of February as “Teen Dating Violence Awareness” Month at last Monday’s meeting. Cindy Smith, Crime Victims Investigator for the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office, said educating teens before they begin dating helps to prepare and bring awareness to recognize problems with violence before they begin to date and thanked the commissioners for their support.
