The Children’s Savehaven Advocacy Center and Sequoyah County MDT (Child Abuse Task Force) are hosting a rock hunt in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month, which is recognized in April.
The rock hunt begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, and ends at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 13.
The event will include the towns of Gore, Vian, Sallisaw, Marble City, Muldrow and Roland (within city limits and public access only). Think parks, walking trails and ball fields.
There is a total of 30 rocks hidden throughout Sequoyah County, and a limit of two rocks per family.
The finder must call 918–776-0974 after a rock is found, and is asked to leave a message if no one answers. Each rock found will receive a prize.
The event is sponsored by Arvest Bank, Firstar Bank, Roland Subway, Affordable Auto Care, Muldrow Laundry, FRC (Family Resource Connections), Sallisaw Fraternal Order of Police, and National Bank of Sallisaw.
