Roland track athletes do well in season-opening meet at Wilburton

WILBURTON — It was a good start to the 2026 track season for the Roland Rangers and Lady Rangers at last Thursday’s Wilburton Invitational.

On the boys’ side, Trevor Lasiter was the champion in the 100-meter dash (11.58 seconds), Paul Johnson was third (19-2) and Damonte “Bubba” Owens was fourth (19-2) in the long jump, Paul Johnson was fourth in the 100-meter dash (12.02) and Hunter Lowe was fifth in the 1,600-meter run (5:40.47) and in the 3,200-meter run (11:57.63).

All four relay teams for the Rangers placed.

Raidyn Knight, Johnson, Uriah Phillips and Lasiter won the 400-meter relay with a time of 44.91 seconds, while Knight, Damonte “Bubba” Owens, Phillips and Lasiter took gold in the 800-meter relay (1:33.8).

Zander Criswell, Bryson Myers, Trevor Tanksleary and Novion Reagan were runnersup in the 1,600-meter relay (3:59.04), while Tommy Greschke, Myers, Owens and Dylan Lowe were runners-up in the 3,200-meter relay (9:48.37).

As for other Rangers’ results, Phillips was sixth (18-8) in the long jump, Myers was seventh (47.49 seconds), Jack Johnson 10th (51.8) and Greschke was 14th (55.21) in the 300-meter hurdles, Greschke was ninth (20.4) and Reagan was 10th (21.14) in the 110-meter hurdles, Talen Reese was fifth (102-1), Ashton Rogers was 11th (81-6) and Jeremiah Peters was 14th (79-2) in the discus, Phillips was eighth (5-6), Owens was 11th (5-4) and Reagan and Myers tied for 13th (52) in the high jump, Reese tied for 10th (349), Criswell was 20th (33-1), Joseph Sharrah was 22nd (32-10) and Joshawa Crase was 39th (28-1) in the shot put, Dylan Lowe was 13th in the 1,600-meter run (6:21.71), Dylan Lowe was 14th (2:35.8) and Isaac Thompson was 25th (2:45.2) in the 800-meter run and Phoenix Miller was 14th (26.28), Reagan was 19th (26.61) and Tae Smith was 26th (27.21) in the 200-meter dash and Miller was 23rd in the 100-meter dash (12.78).

On the girls’ side, Mira Reagan was runner- up in the long jump (15-3), while she was part of the second-place 400-meter relay team with Adriana Moya, Khloe Harmon and Payton Sampley which had a time of 54.53 seconds.

Abby Bower was fourth in the 3,200-meter run (15:28), while Reagan, Moya, Harmon and Sampley were fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:58).

Moya was seventh in the 400-meter dash (1:09), while Reagan was eighth (13.8 seconds), Sampley was ninth (13.9) and Moya was 10th (14 seconds flat) in the 100-meter dash.

Cadence Cole was ninth (7:46) and Madison Hall was 12th (8:24) in the 1,600-meter run, while Cole was 13th (3:12) and Anistyn Howard was 20th (3:41) in the 800-meter run.

Kinlee Burger was 11th in the 300-meter hurdles (1:02) and 13th in the 100-meter hurdles (21.1 seconds).

As for other Lady Rangers’ results, Howard and Makenzie Pratt each ran the 400-meter dash in 1:21, while Aaliyah Taylor threw the discus 55-9 and the shot put 22-5. However, they did not place.

Last Wednesday, the Lady Rangers had some middle school athletes place at the Porter Consolidated Invitational.

JayCee Moore was fifth in the shot put (235), while Oakley France was sixth in the high jump (3-9) and seventh in the long jump (1010).

As for other Lady Rangers’ JH results, France had a time of 16.51 seconds and Allie Bean a time of 17.14 in the 100-meter dash, while Bean ran a 36.97, Desiree Lopes a 38.24 and Presleigh Smith a 40.04 in the 200-meter dash.

Lainey Byrd had a time of 3:27 in the 800-meter run and a time of 7:57 in the 1,600-meter run. Moore threw the discus 41-6.

In the long jump, P.K. Smith had a jump of 9-5, while Lopez had a mark of 8-5.

The Roland High School track teams were slated to return to action at the Heavener Invitational on Tuesday at Harvey Stadium.
