Local basketball players make All-NOAA Conference Team

Several basketball players from Muldrow and Roland either earned NOAA Conference awards or were named to the all-conference team, which was announced last week.

On the girls’ side, Roland’s Ryanne Nelke was named the NOAA Girls Player of the Year, with Roland’s Halle Freeman being named the Co-Best Offensive Players of the Year with Sallisaw’s Hannah Palmer.

Muldrow’s Kilah Ellingberg was named the Best Defensive Player of the Year.

Sallisaw girls coach Greg Pratt and Roland girls coach Scott Nelke shared Coach of the Year honors as both teams tied for the conference title. Besides Nelke, Freeman and Kilah Ellingberg, local girls players who made the all-tournament’s first team were Muldrow’s London Hardin and Kayla Ellingberg and Roland’s Molly Carver.

Roland’s Lillian Cole was named to the second- team all-conference, while Muldrow’s Jaydin Dean, Emma Fields and Gracie Prewett and Roland’s Adriana Moya were honorable mention.

On the boys’ side, Roland’s Damonte “Bubba” Owens was named the conference boys’ Most Valuable Player, while his cousin, Raidyn Knight, was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Muldrow’s Teaguen Collins was named the Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining Owens, Knight and Collins on the first team all-conference were Muldrow’s Parker Sevenstar and Roland’s Kade Shook.

Muldrow’s Jesse Kilinc and Roland’s Mason Kemp were secondteamers.

Making the third team were Muldrow’s D.J. Massey and Roland’s Landon Fowler.

Muldrow’s DeShawn Willson, Jermauree Palmer and E.J. Zanders and Roland’s Cason Perryman and Tae Smith were honorable mention.

Roland’s Eddie Lewis and Muldrow’s Terry Collins were named the Co-NOAA Conference Boys Coaches of the Year as the Runnin’ Rangers and the Bulldogs shared the conference title this season.
