Gadugi Corps lend a helping hand
The Rural Communities Initiative Foundation expressed “wado” (thank you) to the Cherokee Nation Gadugi Corps, led by Shawn Crittenden, for their swift response after a large pine tree toppled onto a Cherokee Nation citizen’s home near the Belfonte/Nicut community center in the early morning hours of March 16. Though the tree caused significant damage, no injuries were reported among the three residents. Notified at 8 a.m., the Tahlequah-based crew arrived promptly and completed the cleanup within about four and a half hours—demonstrating the true spirit of “Gadugi,” or working together for the good of the community.
