Funeral services for Sherman Maurice Olive, 74, of Vian, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Agent Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.
Burial was at Roselawn Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Olive was born on Oct. 29, 1951, in Chicago, Ill. to Lexton Chanie Olive and Almeda Olive. He died on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He enjoyed fishing, barbecue, country music, going on trips to Chicago, playing dominos and cards, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include five children, Patrick Olive of Fort Gibson, Arthur-Shawn Olive of Muskogee, Robbie Foreman of Muskogee, Spring Birmingham of Muskogee and Thaiwanna Olive of Lawton; one brother, Arthur “Winky” Olive of Vian; three sisters, Lexan Johnson of Chicago, Carrie Ann Demery of Mesa, Ariz., and Lee Chaine Smith of Chicago; sister-in-law, Patricia Daniels of Muskogee; numerous grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Brenda; brothers, Andre Olive and Jerome Olive; sisters, Hazel Dixon, Sharon Olive-Body and Donna Olive; and sons, Christopher Jordan Lee Olive Foreman and Bobbie Foreman.
