Seq. Co. OHCE Quilt Show to be held in April

The 45th annual Sequoyah County OHCE Quilt Show and Bake Sale will be held April 17-18 at the Sequoyah County Fair Building, on the corner of Redwood & Shurley.

Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Quilt show entry forms can be picked up at the OSU Extension Service Office in the Sequoyah County Courthouse at 120 E. Chickasaw, Suite 107.

Entries will be accepted until Thursday, April 16, but to be mentioned in the quilt show booklet, they must be received by April 3.

Completed entries can be mailed to: BJ Covington, 102507 S 4570 Road, Vian, OK 74962.

Quilts should be brought to the Fair building from 7:30 a.m. to noon on April 16. The owner of the quilt must have their name, address and phone number pinned to the lower right hand corner of the quilt back.

Due to space restrictions, entries are limited to three quilts per person, and they should be numbered 1 through 3 in priority of the quilter’s choice.

They will not accept quilts that have been entered in their previous shows. The quilts must be hand or machine stitched, bound and finished, or hemmed.

Release forms will be given during check-in, and must be presented to pick up quilts following the show.

Quilts will be taken down and available for pick up after 1:30 p.m., Saturday. Sponsors are not responsible for lost or damaged entries left after the show.

Admission to the quilt show is $5 per person. Tickets are also available to win a beautiful queen-size Patriotic Sampler quilt.

Each quilt block is the unique creation of one of the Sequoyah County OHCE members.

Tickets are $2 each or three for $5, available for purchase at the door.

Tables will display miscellaneous hand crafted and baked goods for sale. The bake sale will include cakes, pies, cookies, fried pies and other goodies.

Lunch will be available for purchase on Friday for $12.

The lunch menu includes chicken & dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls, assorted salads, dessert, and a drink.

Individually priced snacks and drinks will be available on Saturday.

For additional questions, contact Bev Covington at 918-774-2215, or Pat Taylor at 918315-0889.
