EL RENO — Muldrow Bulldogs freshman heavyweight powerlifter Xavier Coby claimed the state champ ionship at the Class 4A Junior High State Meet, which took place last Thursday. He had a total lift of 1,175 pounds. All total, eight Muldrow powerlifters competed at state, with four of them placing. In the high school division, Alejandro Santacruz was third at 220 pounds with 1,250 pounds total lifted.
Alex Rodriguez was fourth in the freshmen division at 145 pounds as he had a total lift of 685 pounds.
In the freshmen division, Israel Moss was fifth at heavyweight with 915 pounds total lifted.
Four other Bulldogs competed at state but just missed out on placing.
In the high school heavyweight division, 157-pounder Gabe Smalley had a total lift of 960 pounds.
In the freshmen division, 132-pounder Zaylenny Williams lifted a total of 765 pounds, while 168-pounder Dillon Turner had Muldrow eighth-grade 198-pounder Landon Brown lifted a total of 685 pounds.
