McCURTAIN — The Gans Lady Grizzlies suffered a pair of road losses to the McCurtain Lady Bulldogs by scores of 20-1 in three innings and 9-3 In the opener, the Lady Grizzlies (0-4) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Lady Bulldogs responded with a 14-run first inning and a six-run second inning for not only the come-from-behind win but to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Nora Barnes doubled, Taylor Barger singled with a run batted in, Makenzy Hunter singled and scored the lone run for the Lady Grizzlies and Abigail Leach, Yesenia Gaona and Kilynn Bird each singled for Gans. Gaona (0-2) suffered the loss.
In the nightcap, the Lady Grizzlies scored three runs in the fourth inning after the Lady Bulldogs had a 5-0 lead after two innings, but they got no closer.
In defeat, Leach doubled with an RBI and a run scored for Gans. Destiny Phillips (0-1) took the loss.
Last Friday’s road game at Porum was canceled.
The Lady Grizzlies will be idle until entertaining the Leflore Lady Savages at 6 p.m. March 23.
